Slogging to Sweets Logo Design

I’m an amateur runner and baker with a professional sweet tooth, who got bored of ending weekend long runs back at my front door. Naturally, I decided to combine interests and start ending my long runs at a different Philadelphia bakery or micro-bakery/local baker pop up. I coined it the act of “slogging to sweets.” Having an advertising and design background, you’re crazy if you think I wasn’t dreaming up what a logo would look like in my sleep. One of my favorite baked goods to date is the berry pop-tart from Essen Bakery in the East Passyunk neighborhood of Philadelphia. Aside from it’s vibrant colors, the pop-tart epitomizes the mix in texture and flavor that I love in a baked good. It helps that it also lends itself to a pretty cute logo, which is what you see here. My intention for this logo was simply to use it for an Instagram profile photo, so I could create a space to both document my running and baked good explorations, but I also intentionally made the logo versatile in the way the colors could easily be changed out and it could seamlessly be adjusted to fit any kind of medium (sticker, shirt, hat, etc.). Slogging to sweets is something I do, but it’s also something a lot of people do—I just gave it a name and welcome others to use it in whatever slogs or sweets are in their practice.
