Women In Ultrarunning Marketing & Social Media
When I’m not designing, you can find me training for ultramarathons. As of June 2026, my furthest distance is 42 miles. The inspiration and courage to complete such feats comes after joining a non-profit organization and a space designed to help welcome more women into the sport of ultrarunning in a dynamic and inclusive way - the space created by Women in Ultrarunning (WIU). You can learn more about us, donate, etc., here.
The founder of WIU is a friend from the running community and I care deeply about her cause, so I’ve offered to help WIU gradually find it’s brand look-and-feel based on it’s already-created logo. I started with a more immediate need - signage for events, but more recently, North America’s premier trail running festival, TrailCon 2026. This came in the form of five (5) 8.5 × 11 branded flyers with a variety of information about WIU that could be put in clear plastic stands and printed at home, because, non-profit things. I’m told the signage was a hit, and I’ve seen proof that WIU’s booth at TrailCon had a ton of foot traffic. These flyers help me set the stage and create branding elements for WIU materials to come.
A second more immediate need was WIU’s 2026 grant, announced on the WIU Instagram account. The grant awards five (5) recipients a $1,000 grant to remove financial barriers to the sport and support women pursuing an ultrarunning goal. This came in the form of branded, easily legible carousel images explaining the grant and how to apply. You’ll see both on Instagram and in the metrics on the backend below, this received A TON of traction from the international women’s running community and I couldn’t be happier to have been part of helping WIU creatively get the message out.
For ease of collaboration and on-the-go creativity, WIU uses Canva, where all the deliverables below were created.
